UVB+Red light Protocol
The exact protocol I used during pregnancy to keep my vitamin D levels healthy
My Exact UVB + Red Light Therapy Protocol During Pregnancy
How I kept my vitamin D levels around 60 ng/mL all winter without relying on supplements (keep reading for the exact equipment I used also & why)
Most people only think about vitamin D levels when they’re already low.
During pregnancy, I approached it differently.
I wanted my levels to be optimal before winter, and I wanted to maintain them without relying on high-dose vitamin D supplementation, especially after reading the work of Jim Stephenson Jr. on vitamin D metabolism, D/A ratios, and long-term safety considerations.
So today I’m sharing my full UVB + red light therapy protocol - exactly how I maintained vitamin D around 60 ng/mL throughout pregnancy while living in Georgia, even during months when outdoor UVB is almost nonexistent.
This is NOT medical advice.
This is simply the protocol I used with my midwife’s supervision, with regular bloodwork, and with extreme attention to safety, timing, and circadian alignment.
If you live above ~35° latitude, or you have winters with long stretches of zero UVB, this can be a game-changer for seasonal mood & health!
